Q: What should I wear?
A: We are a casual church. Lots of people come in jeans, but some people dress up a bit. Wear whatever is comfortable for you.
Q: What time should I arrive and how long is the service?
A: Our worship service is normally 90 minutes long, beginning at 10:00am and ending around 11:30am. Feel free to come 10 minutes early.
Q: Where do I park?
A: Guest parking is available on Magnolia street, just south of the church or feel free to park in the gravel lot to the east.
Q: What is the congregation like?
A: We have a wonderful community of friendly and welcoming people. We’re doing the best we can to follow Jesus, but we recognize that no one is perfect and we're all still in need of God's grace. We have people from all age groups, including lots of young families.
Q: What denomination is the church?
A: First Baptist is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Like most Southern Baptist churches, we are an autonomous church. The church is led by a group of elders selected by the congregation.
Q: Do I need to bring anything?
A: We teach directly from the Bible each week, so we encourage you to bring one if you have one. If not, no problem—Bibles are available in the racks under the chairs in the sanctuary, and we’d love for that Bible to be our gift to you.
Q: How many people attend on a Sunday morning?
A: Attendance can vary depending on multiple factors but a typical Sunday is around 180. We have a lot of young families so you'll see lots of kids too!
Q: Will I have to introduce myself or stand up?
A: Nope. Just come in, find a seat and enjoy the service.
Q: Do you have coffee?
A: Coffee is available in the overflow area next to the sanctuary along with cream and sugar. Please help yourself!
Q: What Bible translation do you use?
A: We typically use the ESV translation.
