First Baptist Church of Independence, Kansas, was founded on April 22, 1870 by seventeen charter members who initially convened in a modest "hay house." Over the years, the church has experienced significant growth, undergoing numerous changes in leadership, facilities, and ministries. Throughout our history, we have been deeply committed to community engagement and service. The church has initiated various programs, including weekly community meals, missionary support, and prayer gatherings, all aimed at spreading the Gospel and serving the needs of the community. With a passion for God and His Gospel, First Baptist Church remains a vital and active presence in the Independence community
